For How Long?

To be eligible for the job seeking visa, applicants need to have either:

• a degree corresponding to at least a 60-credit Master’s degree,
• or a 120-credit Master’s degree, a professional degree worth 60-330 credits,
• or a postgraduate/PhD-level degree.

Approximately 6 – 8 months from the time of submission of the application. 

No. For that reason, please consider carefully to choose the right period. 

The longer the period of the residence permit (visa) the more expensive will the insurance be. We purchase the health insurance on your behalf. 

The payment is due once we have received and reviewed all necessary documents (passport, education, questionnaire, power of attorney etc).

If the documents are easily readable and digital quality is acceptable, you will receive an email with a price offer letter (per-forma invoice) along with the terms and conditions of the service. 

This is not binding. You will have 7 working days to decide to accept the offer and pay it or you can refuse it without any strings attached.

If you accept the offer and pay it, as soon as you send us the payment receipt we start processing of your application. 

If you reject the offer, we will delete all the documents we received from you.

There are two scenarios for the refund: 

Full Refund

We pay back the entire fee if the rejection is caused by mishandling the application process by us. 

No Refund

If it shows that the rejections was caused by misleading or mistakes from the applicant, there will be no refund. This can be due to false documents, invalid education documents, invalid identity documents or any other reason or information that has been kept in hide by the applicant. 

The reason for the rejection will be explained in the decision letter from the Swedish Migration Agency and will be available to the applicant through the Swedish embassy.  

We submit your application along with your education documents to the Swedish Migration Agency (Migrationsverket). They will in turn forward your education documents to the Swedish Council for Higher Education (Universitets- och högskolerådet – UHR) who are experts in evaluating foreign educations. 

Once UHR approves your education they inform the Swedish Migration Agency who will decide on your residence permit. 

Swedworks does not have any role in evaluating your education documents.

Unfortunately not. This type of visa (residence permit) is for the main applicant only. 

But once you find a job or you decide to start your own business, you may include your core family members (spouse and children) in the application that you have to submit prior to starting your employment or your business.

Please note:
the application for work permit or for starting business is not included in this service and can be provided upon request for additional fee.

No, that’s the purpose of this “Job Seeking Visa”. When you find a job you only need to submit a new application for work permit. As soon as the application is submitted you can start working. 

Yes. Once you decide on starting a new business or buying an existing business in Sweden, you only need to submit an application for residence permit based on own company. As soon as the application is submitted you can start running your business while waiting for the decision. 

We can provide some guidance on where to look and what to think about when considering to start a new company or buying an existing company. The service can be provided upon request and will be charged on hourly basis. 

Unfortunately no. But as soon as you find a job that is longer that 12 months you can apply for the Swedish personal ID number (personnummer). 

However, if you decide in starting a new business or purchasing an existing business, there are some possibilities to obtain a temporary personal number. Please advise with us on this matter.
