Which Situation Are You In?

Apply for a Swedish work permit — four common situations.

People come to us at different stages. Tell us which one fits you.

Scenario 1

You have a Swedish job offer

Most common case

A Swedish company has offered you a job. Now you need to apply for a Swedish work permit before you can start.

  • We work with your employer on the application
  • We tell you which documents you need
  • We send the application to Migrationsverket and follow it
  • We tell you how to do the embassy visit
From €1,490 per applicant
Full case — we work with both you and the employer.
Scenario 2

Your permit needs to be extended

Already in Sweden

You’re in Sweden on a work permit. It is about to end. You can apply up to four months before it expires. An extension can go smoothly — but a lot can also go wrong if past details don’t match the rules.

  • We check your salary history against the minimum
  • We check your insurance (life, health, work injury, pension)
  • We send the application before your current permit ends
  • Migrationsverket looks back at your whole past permit — we make sure everything is in order
From €1,790 per applicant
Migration Agency fees included.
Scenario 3

Change of employer or job position

In Sweden, changing roles

You have a Swedish work permit. Now you want to change to a new employer, or to a different job with the same employer. You need to apply for a new permit before you start.

  • We check the new job and conditions
  • We work with the new employer’s side
  • We send the application before your start date
  • You keep your legal status the whole time
From €1,690 per applicant
Migration Agency fees included.
Scenario 4

Permanent Residence (PUT)

After 48 months on a work permit

After four years on a valid Swedish work permit, you can apply for permanent residence in Sweden. Apply at least three months before you reach the 48-month mark.

  • We check your 48-month work and salary history
  • We help you show you can support yourself
  • We send the application before your current permit ends
  • Family members can apply with you
From €1,790 per applicant
Migration Agency fees included.
Special case — your employer won’t outsource their part? If you need help with only your portion of the application because your employer is handling their side themselves, we can take on an applicant-only engagement at a reduced rate — up to 50% off the standard price. See pricing details →

Common Questions

Common questions about applying for a Swedish work permit.

My employer is doing the application themselves. Can you still help me?

Yes. Some employers do their side of the application themselves. You may still need help with your side.

We offer an applicant-only service at a reduced price — up to 50% off our standard fee. The exact price depends on how complex your case is. We confirm it in your written offer.

How long does it take to apply for a Swedish work permit?
From the day we receive your case to a decision from Migrationsverket: usually 2–5 months in total. We need about 2–4 weeks to prepare and send the application. After that, Migrationsverket takes about 1–4 months to decide. We follow your case the whole time.
What documents do I need to give you?
It depends on your case. For a new work permit, you usually need: a copy of your passport, your education papers, your work contract, the offer letter from your employer, and family papers if your family is coming with you. We give you a clear list after the free check, so you know exactly what to send.
Can my family come with me?
Yes. Your spouse, registered partner, or cohabiting partner can come. So can your children under 21. They apply together with your main application. The cost is €490 per family member, with Migration Agency fees included. One case manager handles your whole family.
What if I get a different job — can I change employer?
Yes. If you have a Swedish work permit and want to move to a new employer (or a new job with the same employer), you need a new application. This is Scenario 3 above. You must send it — and get it approved — before you start the new job. You cannot just switch. We handle everything, including the new employer’s side.
What’s the new June 2026 rule and how does it affect my case?

From 1 June 2026, work permit applicants must earn at least 90% of Sweden’s median salary. That is about SEK 33,390 per month right now. The offered terms must also match the Swedish collective agreement for your job.

Health insurance is required for jobs shorter than one year. Some industries and roles have higher minimum salaries. Some exceptions may apply. We check your case against the new rules during the free check.

When can I apply for permanent residence?
After 48 months (four years) on a valid Swedish work permit. Contact us at least three months before you reach the 48-month mark. We check your full work and salary history, make sure everything matched the rules, and send the application well before your current permit ends.
Do you offer pay-on-success for individual applicants?
No. Our pay-on-success guarantee is for company cases only — usually Swedish or international employers. For individuals, our fixed prices apply with standard payment terms. The free check before we start is still free. We turn down cases we don’t believe will succeed — that’s why our success rate is 95% across more than 2,000 applications.
